Are you ever frustrated with employees who challenge you as your boss, your ideas and/or your leadership style? Have your ever suspected they see you as the “enemy” or someone who is no more than the “boss” and therefore not to be trusted? Have you tried being a coach, or is discipline and punishment your first form of addressing a problem?

Coaching is a term we seem to reserve for sports. No matter how accomplished a team, we typically believe a coach is essential to success. However, when it comes to business, too many managers fail to coach with consistency. If you’re not getting the respect you deserve or you don’t feel as connected with your staff as you would like to be, this presentation offers 21 Robust Keys for becoming the kind of leader who coaches his or her team to success!

The value of being more of a coach and less of a boss is bottom-line results by changing behavior. If you are ever tempted to write off an employee as lazy, stupid or hopeless, this seminar is for you. You will learn how to take pride in being direct by saying what’s on your mind and recognize that one size does not fit all. When performance issues are ignored they escalate; good coaching and counseling skills are one of the best retention tools you have. Highlights of this seminar include how to:

  • Build trust by meeting the challenges of coaching and counseling head-on despite difficult workplace issues.
  • Avoid quick solutions to tough situations by clarifying performance expectations and getting commitment to act.
  • Set goals, not limits and provide the necessary resources to meet the goals.
  • Deliver high-impact feedback to help your employees make changes before bad behavior becomes a habit.
  • Develop the fine art of asking questions, exploring options and advocating for your employees.
  • Provide coaching and counseling for each of three levels of performers – super stars, average performers and below average performers.
