"I Need My Laser Pointer" and Other PowerPoint Myths Busted

PowerPoint has become the biggest blessing and the biggest curse of presentations today. When used well, it can help presenters get their ideas and points across more clearly and memorably and create a great, interactive experience for the audience.

Unfortunately, in the wrong hands, this powerful tool of mass communication can become a weapon of mass confusion. PowerPoint is too often abused and misused, from awful quality issues ("I know you can't read this, but...") to usage problems, including using laser pointers, that destroy the connection between the speaker, the visuals and the audience.

In this revealing and accredited PowerPoint presentation training, speaking coach and trainer Barbara Busey draws on over 19 years of presentation coaching experience to help you unleash the power and avoid the pitfalls in your PowerPoint presentations. She focuses on using PowerPoint the way it was intended – as a tool to enhance speeches by adding a visual component to the auditory. It should strengthen the presentation or learning experience and not be the main attraction.

There’s no reason why you can’t dazzle your audience – and your superiors – with a PowerPoint presentation that gives your speech a giant boost of energy and effectiveness. Come listen as Busey breaks down the 7 secrets of preventing “PowerPoint Poisoning” and shows how to keep PowerPoint from sucking up all of your presentation time.
