What does it take to become a great leader? Listen to One

Ever work for a leader that had your back, that walked the talk, that inspired and engaged employees at every level. This is a chance to listen to award winning leader John Caparella currently president of the Venetian and Palazzo Hotels and Sands Convention Center, in Las Vegas, talking with Chuck Wolfe, a pioneer in emotional intelligence, talking about being or becoming a great leader. Chuck Wolfe teaches strategies for managing emotions and emotional relationships with others. Work related interviews with CEOs, other senior leaders, and consultants talking about topics such as putting employees first and customers second, helping small business owners with enterprise risk management, and helping leaders change culture, build teams, and develop other leaders.

In this audio presentation Chuck interviewed John Caparella, President of the award winning Venetian and Palazzo Resorts and the Sands Expo and Convention center in Las Vegas. John is also an award winner, and one of the most respected and experienced executives in the hotel industry. Chuck agrees that John is one of the best leaders he has ever worked with. John is an emotionally intelligent, inspiring leader.

All organizations often have similar challenges, such as changing a culture, engaging employees, managing talent, developing new leaders, creating new growth, and managing expenses, while at the same time exceeding customer expectations.

Chuck has prepared a series of questions that address these types of challenges and shared them with John Caparella. His experience, knowledge and intuition have led people to view him as a very practical, emotionally intelligent leader. I am sure you will find John's answers to be brilliant and engaging, and the information discussed very meaningful and valuable.

Comments from past listeners of this presentation:

“Chuck has such an easygoing and pleasant interview style that you felt you were listening to a trusted conversation between two friends. I was furiously scribbling notes while I was listening and they were gold! I have rarely heard an interview that gave such practical and hands on leadership lessons.” - Leadership Lessons Lea Brovedani

“John’s distinguishing quality is his great ability to emotionally connect with others.” - George Dumigan

“It is interesting how different organizations across the globe from varied sectors face similar problems. John mentioned a point regarding a company having too many rules indicating they are not on track, I could not agree more. This is an excellent point and valid indicator of an organization which has lost direction. There was one incident John mentioned when an older employee introduced herself saying "You are not my 1st manager and you will not be my last." We often face uncomfortable situations but how we react to them differs between regular and good leaders. How John casually took that in his stride focusing on the bigger picture at hand portrays his ability to accept the situation at hand with patience. Overall the interview was a good reflection of knowledge John has acquired over the years.” - AMIT KHOSA
