Influence with Impact: Harness the Power of Negotiation and Persuasion

Your employees can either languish or flourish…and you know exactly which one is happening in your organization, right?

How do you persuade and negotiate with them are two important components of how they work and grow in your organization. And your influence on them drives your consistent success (or lack of it).

Your team, and every person you work with for that matter – even peers and colleagues – are people you have a direct impact on. You can impact them in a way that moves goals forward, or backward. Learning to persuade the people you lead to accomplish your goals takes understanding of their wants, needs and motives first. And communication is essential – you must determine their unique communication style and maximize how that interacts with yours.

Negotiation and persuasion are critical as well. You must effectively urge others to take action, even when they may not fully understand, nor really care about, the complete picture. And as the leader, your job is to look at the big picture. Your concerns and motivations may be different than the concerns of your team.

In this 60-minute CD, communication expert and master trainer, Guy Harris, will teach you how to communicate with specific, powerful tactics that lead to better persuasion, negotiation and ultimately influence. Guy will teach you:

  • The power of the question: How understanding the motivation of others helps achieve YOUR goals
  • Essential conflict resolution techniques. Once you’re past the conflict, real persuasion can begin.
  • How appropriate, succinct and honest feedback can facilitate the negotiation process
  • The role of emotions in influence and how you can overcome the emotional barriers you face in your influence and persuasion efforts
  • How to recognize when real consensus has been achieved

Good leaders are master influencers. And they get that way from honing their communication, persuasion and negotiating skills. Once you’ve gained an understanding of these specific tactics, you’ll be well on your way to being a great leader, and watching your team take off.
